It does not have to be microwaved and tinned food when you live alone. You can learn how to make great tasting food for one, and for your friends. Learn about a variety of dishes you can cook quickly and easily, - quicker than dialling for a pizza!!I After two 3-hour sessions you will be preparing and cooking great-tasting healthy food on a budget. At the end of each session you will be able to eat, or take away, the food you have cooked and at the end of the course you will be given a recipe booklet and an apron. The course is open to all including vegetarians and you will not have to deal with meat or fish if you do not want to. The course will cover soups, main courses, salads, snacks and desserts. Typical dishes you will prepare include soups, stir fries, casseroles, pasta dishes, speedy breakfasts, simple desserts and cakes.

Additional Notes

Your health and safety is very important to us. We need you to come prepared with stout shoes (no open toes), minimal jewellery and your hair tied back securely.

Entry Criteria

This course is ideal for young people who are leaving home for the first time and need to learn some basic skills to be able to feed themselves without resorting to the take-way. See below for specific entry criteria.
