Award for Personal Licence Holders Level 2

You will learn about alcohol, its effect on people and society and the controls placed on its sale and supply. This course is essential for anyone who wishes to hold a personal licence to cover the sale and supply of alcohol, the provision of entertainment to the public and provision of late night refreshment. It is important that all those entering the licensed retail sector are aware of the framework of law that surrounds their occupation, their obligations under the law and the level of responsibility expected from them. Under licensing law, there is a statutory requirement for anyone selling alcohol, or authorising others to sell alcohol, to obtain a qualification, such as the National Certificate for Personal Licence Holders.

Once you have enrolled you will be sent a BIIAB handbook, which you need to study before attending the course and should bring it along on the day of the course. It is a requirement of the BIIAB that clear proof of identity is provided by you to allow for certification on successful completion of the examination. Please ensure you bring with you proof with a photograph (eg passport, new style driving licence). Alternatively a credit card can be provided accompanied by a recent statement and supported by two other forms of addressed identification (eg utility bill, mortgage or bank statement). You will usually be working within the licensed trade or about to undertake a career in the industry and you must be over 18 years old

Having achieved the National Certificate for Personal Licence Holders applicants can pursue their application for a Personal Licence. This will be very useful when you apply for work within the hospitality, leisure and retail industries.
