About This CourseThis course is offered to students who have completed the AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting. It is offered on the following days and times: Gloucester campus: Tuesday morning and afternoon. Cheltenham campus: Wednesday morning and afternoon . Half day release can be offered by negotiation. All classes are three hours duration plus a fifteen minute break. Classes start at 9.30am, 1.45pm and 6.00pm. Students study 4 compulsory subjects and 2 out of 4 optional subjects. The compulsory subjects are financial statements, budgeting, financial performance and internal control and accounting systems. This course is offered to students who have completed the AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting. It is offered on the following days and times: Gloucester campus: Tuesday morning and afternoon. Cheltenham campus: Wednesday morning and afternoon . Half day release can be offered by negotiation. All classes are three hours duration plus a fifteen minute break. The optional subjects are credit management and control, personal tax, business tax and external auditing. (The number of optional courses offered will be dependent on student numbers).For further details refer to the AAT website http://www.aat.org.uk/ The course duration is 1 year which requires attending college for 6 hours per week. However, by attending for between 3 and 6 hours per week it is possible to spread the course over a period of two years. Assessment is based on five computer based exams. One unit is assessed via a 4000 word project. In addition to attending college, students will be expected to undertake between 4-6 hours additional study out of college.

Entry CriteriaGCSE maths and English A* to C. Successful completion of AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting. All students need to be working in an accounting environment
Progression DetailsOnce students have completed their AAT studies they may be eligible for exemptions from the foundation stage examinations of the UK Chartered accountancy bodies (CIMA, ACCA, CIPFA, ICAEW) or they may wish to study for a Foundation Degree in Business or for a Full Degree. .
