About the course:

This course has been has been reviewed and modified on a regular basis to meet the needs of the food sector for a practical approach to management of food safety.  The qualification is externally accredited, and, at Ellison-Webb Training, normally takes place over two weeks (3 days per week), or two days a week for 3 weeks.  This will include at least 36 hours of teaching time. 

There are two options offered for assessment, they are as follows: 

CIEH   Two work-based assignments to be completed prior to taking a written

examination (2½ hours). The exam can be taken in Catering or Manufacturing.

RSPH  One written examination (1½ hours), followed by a case study of 1 hou…

Achievement will enable course delegates to:

  •      Guide and advise on the management of food safety in a food business.
  •     Contribute to the management of food safety in a wide variety of food businesses.
  •     Identify further technical knowledge necessary in food safety management procedures.
  • Determine further training requirements.
  •  Identify areas for legal compliance.
  •    Determine good practice.
  •    Design an improvement plan.
  •   Outline a HACCP-type plan.
  •  Promote and encourage good standards of food safety.
  •    Liase with enforcement officers.
  •  Deliver Level 1 and Level 2 Food Safety training (with appropriate training skills)

  •   Supervisors with Level 3 Food Safety knowledge.
  •   Food safety personnel.
  •   Food safety systems auditors.

.All courses are certified by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health, or Royal Society for Public Health.
