Designed for students who wish to build on their previous learning, and perhaps work experience, the course allows you to enter directly into year 3 or 4, depending on your prior qualifications. This course develops accounting and finance studies to degree/honours degree level, to meet the needs of key operators in the financial environment, and the demands of the financial world. You may transfer in from another degree course, even if it is from another University, or you may have successfully completed an HND in a related area. Holders of other appropriate professional qualifications with an underpinning in financial services, accounting, or finance will be considered for entry. On completion of this programme of study you will have developed the ability to: Structure and communicate ideas effectively, both written and orally, using appropriate media. Use IT and appropriate software. Research and collate information, using analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret that information and draw reasonable conclusions. Use interpersonal, communication and other transferable skills to contribute effectively in a business situation. What's involved The course is studied over 2 years and will involve lectures, tutorials and independent study. Below is an indication of the compulsory modules you could study. These will be supplemented by choices from a course-specific option pool: Stage 3 Corporate Financial Management; Advanced Corporate Reporting; Corporate Risk Management; plus 3 option modules Stage 4 Current Issues in Finance; Dissertation; plus 3 option modules
