About the course

The Health and Professional Practice honours degree programme flexibly meets the professional needs of registered nurses, midwives, and allied health professionals, who will be working in a variety of different health care settings. The dichotomy of life experience that a student brings to this programme will be recognised and valued. Students will be given an opportunity, within a supportive learning environment: to build upon this and to reach their full potential whilst undertaking a professional and academic programme that is relevant to their practice environment.

This degree is not designed to provide the practitioners with additional registration on a Professional Register, but it does ensure that they have the opportunity to continue their professional education at degree level and develop their specialist knowledge base, which will ultimately enable them to enhance and develop practice.

The strength and importance of clinical practice is evident within this award as there is continuing equal emphasis to both theory and practice within each of the modules.

On completion of this programme all students who do not have a degree will gain the BSc Health and Professional Practice award. If a student already has a degree they will gain the Graduate Certificate (60 credits) or Diploma (120 credits) in Health and Professional Practice award.

There will be no formal induction; a virtual induction is available from the Blackboard facility, which will be available once you have enrolled.

This programme is not subject specific therefore to complete this award you must study 120 credits which must include three core modules from the module list for BSc Health and Professional Practice.
