You spend one day a week in college participating in classroom and
practical-based sessions. The other four days are spent working in
the workplace putting what you have learned into practice.
At college you learn both in the classroom and the workshops. You
then take the skills you have learned out to the workplace where
you are expected to bring work-based evidence and build a
portfolio.
An assessor will visit your work place to observe your working
practices. All functional skills will be delivered at college
within your day release.
You expand on the basic skills and knowledge and gain a nationally-recognised qualification. The apprenticeship gives you a valuable insight into the profession and the future career options available to you.
You should have completed the intermediate level motor vehicle apprenticeship before progressing onto this apprenticeship. After applying you will be invited to complete initial assessments to ensure that you are at the right level of learning for the course.
