LEVEL 1 DIPLOMA IN PLUMBING

INTRODUCTION

This programme is aimed at full time students to give an introduction to Plumbing and heating. The programme will involve students attending theoretical classroom sessions to gain the underpinning knowledge and also attending practical sessions in our workshops.

• Structure of the construction industry

• Fundamental safe working practices

• Environmental and sustainability

• Site preparation for working in the construction industry

• Above ground drainage

• Copper pipework

• Plastic pressure pipework

• Low carbon steel pipework

• Installation, repair and maintenance of plumbing systems

• Plumbing science

• Assignments and Practical Assessment.

What qualifications you need

All applicants will be required to undertake the following:

• Interview (for applicants who have passed the aptitude test)

• 4 GCSE’s at Grade E or above including Maths, English & Science.

• Level 2 NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Plumbing and Heating (C&G 6189); this qualification is part of an apprenticeship programme and requires students to be employed as an apprentice within the Plumbing industry.
