ACS Commercial Gas Safety

This is an opportunity now being offered at the Construction & Logistics Skills Academy for existing Commercial Gas operatives or to operatives currently certificated in the domestic natural gas industry wishing to extend their scope of work.

All our commercial courses and assessments are fully accredited and certificated by BPEC .
We offer various categories from the Core including changeover from Domestic to Commercial.

From this point individual appliances (direct and indirect0 can be undertaken.

How long is the course?

We offer special packages to cover Core and appliances for new and existing commercial gas operatives but in some cases 1 day courses to suit an individual operatives requirements are also availabler.

How will I be assessed?

Through Theory and practical applications in the ACS Gas Assessment Centre

What will I study?

All our operatives/students are given course study manuals to aid with some study at home and at the college.

What does the course lead to?

Registration with Gas Safe Register

Entry requirements

Catergory 1 operatives - proof of existing certification

Category 2 operatives - requires the applicant to obtain employment with a gas registered business that is willing to provide an extended period of company "in house" gas training and organisational support prior to taking ACS assessment.

Applicants must provide evidence that they hold qualifications demonstrating competence in work activities associated with fossil fuelled appliances/equipment and/or pipe work installation.

Category 3 operatives - are new entrants to the gas industry and have no relevant qualifications or experience.

This applicant is required to obtain employment with a gas registered business that is willing to provide an auditable extended period of company in house gas training and organisational support prior taking ACS assessment. The alternative route for this category of applicant is to seek training and experience that will result in the attainment of an NSVQ in Gas services installation and Maintenance at Level II or III)

The duration and content of the training programme will be determined by the scope of gas work to be undertaken. Evidence in the form of a portfolio of the completion of such training must be presented to the Assessment Centre prior to the operatives taking assessments.
