This apprenticeship programme is a mix of real work and learning, combining valuable experience on the job with focused, relevant training. It follows a Level 2 programme of training over one year.

This apprenticeship programme is a mix of real work and
learning, combining valuable experience on the job with focused,
relevant training. It follows a Level 2 programme of training over
one year.
It covers many aspects of professional cleaning, from mechanised
street cleaning to the maintenance of hard floors.
There’s more to cleaning than most people realise – cleaning staff
can sometimes work at crime and accident scenes, or for the
National Health Service ensuring cleanliness of hospital wards,
waiting rooms and offices.
Apprentices will learn a range of cleaning techniques and skills
including health and safety, working effectively with customers and
others and communication skills. The qualification includes several
elements:
- Level 2 NVQ Cleaning
- Functional Skills in English, Maths and ICT
- Employment Rights and Responsibilities
- Personal Learning and Thinking Skills
You need to pass them all to gain your apprenticeship:
Apprenticeships are designed to let you benefit from real life work
experience which you will get day-to-day in your job. This
experience is supported by theoretical that you will study. Your
assessments are carried out by a qualified and trade competent
assessor who will help support you and your employer in achieving
your qualification. The functional skills are assessed by exam.
An apprenticeship is made up of an NVQ qualification as well as functional skills. You gain a recognised qualification while gaining valuable work experience.
Upon application you will be invited in for an interview and an
initial assessment to make sure that the course is right for you.
You will need to achieve Entry Level 3 at English and maths in the
initial assessment.
There are no other restrictions to becoming an apprentice except
that you need to be over the age of 16 and to have been settled in
the UK for at least the past three years.
You must be in employment in the relevant occupation for a minimum
of 30 hours per week (or 16 hours per week in exceptional
circumstances) to gain a place on one of our apprenticeship
programmes. Your employer will need to agree to you becoming an
apprentice as these are work-based qualifications.
You could progress to Level 3 qualifications and
apprenticeships.
