This course consists of the following:

• Maintain personal hygiene standards when cleaning

• Deal with waste, recyclables, lost property & suspicious packages when cleaning

• Reduce risks to health & safety in the workplace
• Communicate effectively in the workplace
• Develop yourself in the job role
• Follow the rules to deliver customer service
• Clean & maintain internal surfaces & areas
• Clean & maintain external surfaces & areas
• Deal with routine waste
• Clean washrooms & replenish supplies
• Clean high risk areas
• Clean confined spaces
• Clean food areas
• Deep clean equipment & surfaces
• Clean, maintain & protect semi-hard & hard floors
• Clean & maintain soft floors & furnishings
• Clean glazed surfaces & facades
• Deal with non-routine waste
• Carry out maintenance & minor repairs
• Perform street cleansing manually
• Perform street cleansing mechanically
• Work safely at heights
• Use a water-fed pole system to clean windows & facades

Units will be discussed with assessor and selected for the appropriate job role and training purpose.

Students must be employed in the cleaning industry
