Art and Design Level 1 Diploma

If you want to realise your creative potential in one or more craft areas, or you want to get started in the art and design sector with introductory skills and knowledge, the Level 1 Diploma in Art and Design is the right place to begin.

You learn 2D and 3D processes using a variety of art, design and craft media so you can make your design drawings come to life. Areas of study include:

- drawing
- painting
- print making
- textiles
- ceramics
- wire
- plaster

You develop introductory art and design skills and, on successful completion, you gain a formal qualification: the Level 1 Certificate in Art and Design and Creative Studies

There are no formal entry requirements/qualifications needed. You just need an enthusiasm for art, design and creative studies, and the desire to realise your ideas.

The ideal next step is our Level 2 Art and Design programme. After that you could progress to Level 3.

There are no external assessments for this qualification. You receive individual feedback and discussion about your work during each session. Assessment is ongoing and continuous as you proceed through the course and complete each of the 3 units required.

You are encouraged to complete set tasks and develop your own personal style as your confidence in your selected discipline develops.
