SCQF Ladies Hairdressing - Level 6

Overview

This course is designed for those who want a career in hairdressing. Level 6 Ladies Hairdressing will allow you to consolidate your hairdressing skills and develop more elaborate techniques. Work experience is an essential part of the course and you will be required to secure a work placement.

During the course you will have the opportunity to take part in a variety of activities including visits to trade fairs and exhibitions and the chance to participate in hairdressing competitions, presentations and demonstrations.

• If you have successfully completed Ladies Hairdressing Level 5 or have relevant experience in hairdressing you will be considered for an interview.
• Entry will be based on a successful interview and appropriate skills test.
• You should display qualities, which enable you to communicate easily with the public
• Applicants must be 16 years of age at start of course

Hair Colouring and Lightening, Colour Correction; Combination Cutting, Style Dress and Finish Hair, Styling for a Total Look, Commercial Experience, Hairdressing Long Hair Design and Creative Cutting, Scalp, Neck and Shoulder Massage, Creative Current Make-up Trends, Gents Haircutting, Setting and Styling Techniques for the Media.

Career

On successful completion of the course you can choose to go into industry and become Modern Apprentices at Level 3.

Continuing Study

Higher National Certificate in Hairdressing which is available on a full time and a part time basis.

One year, starting in August.
