About This Course:

The course develops the appropriate hand skills and underpinning knowledge you’ll need to work as a qualified Floorlayer.

What You Need:

On the job training and work based assessment are essential parts of the course and as such you must be employed in the industry as an Apprentice Floorlayer.

What You Study:

Year 1: The subjects you’ll study include Preparing Sub Floor Surfaces, Prepare and Fit Underlays, Set Out for Laying Floorcoverings and Conform to General Workplace Safety

Year 2: Study areas in this year include installing impervious and textile floorcoverings and Assessing Conditions for Floorcovering. Developing Customer relationships and Co-ordinating and Organising Work Operations will also be covered.

Year 3 & 4 content to be finalised

Location:

Rogart Street Building

Dates:

Year 1: 19 weeks in college from 8.30am-4.30pm
Starting in August on a block release basis.

Year 2: 11 weeks as above

Year 3: 1 week in College

Year 4: 1 week in College
