About This Course:On the first morning all students should come along to the College at North Hanover Street, before 9:30 am where the class will meet inside the foyer, beside the car park, before heading to the studio.
The emphasis of this course is to develop logic, common sense and understanding in creating a piece of art work through drawing, painting and colour, through a practical approach. Looking at other artists work and comparing your own style.

Materials
Will be discussed on the first meeting and after each presentation. For the first two days of the class you will require general drawing materials.
- Charcoal and A2 white drawing paper.
- Coloured pastels.
- Cotton cloth
- Cotton buds
- Putty rubber.
- Soft 2B pencil.
- 4 drawing clips.
- Small sketch book.
- A suitable portfolio to carry your work.
Your tutor will advise you on further materials required throughout the course.

What You Study:The course will comprise of introduction, demonstration, individual assistance, visiting lecturers (DVD presentations). Critique and discussions.
Weeks 1, 5, 8, Saturday mornings will start with one sample presentation followed by drawing and painting the subject matter.
Weeks 1 – 4 will discuss and demonstrate taking your watercolours a step further.
Weeks 5 – 7 will discuss and demonstrate expressive painting outdoors.
Weeks 8 –10 will discuss and demonstrate portrait painting using a model.
