your own business What will I Study? You will learn how to be a
professional Dog Groomer. This includes clipping, hand-stripping,
trimming and finishing a range of dog breeds with different coat
types to an extremely high standard. How will I be Taught? All
teaching takes place in the grooming parlour where you will work
closely with a lecturer and grooming assistant - both of whom have
proven track records within the industry. You will work on dogs
provided by customers to a commercial parlour and will occasionally
be able to work on your own dogs. How will I be Assessed? Students
are continually assessed throughout the course by tutors and
complete mock exam scenarios in preparation for formal assessment.
When you have reached the required standard you will sit practical
examinations by external examiners. Practical exams at present are
held on weekends. What our students say? Emily Mulholland -
'Brinsbury gave me a good foundation for the start of my grooming
career, it's a very hands-on course so you get to really see if
grooming is right for you. I had a great working relationship with
my tutors and was treated like an adult despite being one of the
youngest students'.
