You will learn the science behind plants, use machinery, be set problems to solve, build and construct patios, paths and learn how to maintain lawns. Improved your plant knowledge 5. Work in a friendly environment What will I Study? The course is split with 65% practical and 35% theory based. It will be taught in outside practicals and well-equipped classrooms. The following units will be delivered during your course: Understand the basic Principles of Plant Science. Landscaping skills including walls, paving, landscape features. Setting out from a plan: working from scaled drawings and setting out features from plans. Undertake Work related Experience in Land-based industries: Getting ready to go into employment, learning skills in writing CV letters and interview techniques. How will I be Taught? You will be taught in many different ways, in the classroom teaching will include interactive white boards, internet videos, photography,video and seminars. There will also be discussions, debates, questions and competitions. In some tasks there will be group, paired and individual exercises. In practical you will have demonstrations and visual and auditory teaching. How will I be Assessed? You will be assessed in many ways, through practical assessments on skills acquired and written assignments which are set. Grades are set a Pass, Merit or Distinction on all units.
