Edexcel BTEC Level 4 HNCs provide a nationally recognised qualification offering career progression and professional development for those already in employment and opportunities to progress into higher education. The qualifications are primarily undertaken by part-time learners studying over two years. Students are required to complete and pass 16 units: 4 per semester. There are 8 business core units and 8 specialist units. YEAR 1 HNC core subjects: · Business Environment · Managing Financial Resources and Decisions · Marketing Principles · Organisations & Behaviour · Aspects of Contracts & Negligence YEAR 2 core subjects: · Business Decision Making · Business Strategy · The Research Project How will I be Taught? The course has a broad business base, such that each unit will be distinct. Teaching and Learning therefore follows a varied pattern. Learning is accomplished by: · Lectures, Speakers & Visits · Seminars · Application of Theory and Models to Real and Fictional Case Studies to analyse problems and make recommendations · Individual, Paired and Group work. · Design, Role Play and Experiential Learning. · Presentations to Business Clients who feedback on students’ plans and recommendations. How will I be Assessed? The course is assessed by a mixture of in-course assignment work and end of unit examination assignments. Normally there will be two pieces of in-course assignment work set in each unit. 4 Units are assessed per semester. Students are required to pass Year 1 (8 units) in order to progress to Year 2.
