The Dance Level 3 Extended Diploma will develop your current levels
of skill and introduce you to new areas of dance. The course aims

The Dance Level 3 Extended Diploma will develop your current levels
of skill and introduce you to new areas of dance. The course aims
to develop the artistic, creative, technical and professional
skills that a dancer needs in order to fully prepare for a varied
and high-level career in the Dance Industry. Your course will
include a range of dance disciplines including Contemporary,
Ballet, and Jazz as well as choreographic, creative, professional

create performance work 3. Take part in workshops with professional
companies 4. Perform at a variety of events including Rock
Challenge 5. Embark on a National Tour What will I Study? Across
both years: Contemporary technique, Ballet, Jazz, Choreography and
Rock Challenge. Year 1:The units in the first year will include
Performance workshop, Dance Performance, Dance Appreciation,
Performing Dance, Choreographing Dances, Healthy Performer and
Developing Movement skills. Year 2: In the second year you will
continue to train in the different techniques and become part of a
dance company in which you will create numerous works to take on
tour to local schools and colleges. You will also have the
opportunity to study ISTD ballet and modern at grade 6 and to take
the exams. UCAS points are awarded for successful completion of
these exams. How will I be Taught? The delivery of the course will
be heavily practical including technique classes and creative
workshops. It will also include the keeping of log books/journals,
note-taking, research, discussion, essays, group projects, theatre
trips, video analysis plus other approaches taken by individual
tutors. The unit content will often dictate the delivery. How will
I be Assessed? As a general rule, each unit will consist of between
1 to 3 assignments. The range of assignments will be diverse from
tutor observation in technique classes, choreographic projects and
live theatre performance to essays, presentations and research
projects. What our students say? Since starting the course I have
really developed my technical dance skills through daily classes
and workshops. Performances play a vital role throughout the year
and the opportunity to collaborate with other students across the
college has been a great experience.
