Dance BTEC Level 3 Certificate / Subsidiary Diploma

Level: Level 3

The course explores a range of stimuli and studies the choreographic principles used to create dance producing trios, duets, solos and group dances. Students will develop their performance skills and dance technique through studying a range of dance styles including ballet, contemporary, international dance, jazz and urban.

The course is led by teaching staff with a range of dance knowledge and experience. Workshops are arranged with professional dance companies allowing the students to experience how professional dancers produce work for performance.

Students will have the opportunity to work as a Dance Company learning repertoire, researching and directing material to create emotive dance work to perform in front of an audience and enter into local dance competitions. The Dance course also expects students to see as much professional performance work where possible.
