year aims to teach the fundamentals of accounting. It is based on
understanding the double entry system and learning how to prepare
financial reports for sole-traders and limited companies. You will
also look at the concepts guiding the preparation of these reports.
In your second year, you will go on to look at the financial
reports in greater detail as well as looking at what happens within
an industrial setting, looking at how managers use budgets to make
pricing and costing decisions. How will I be Taught? Teaching
methods include explanation of accounting techniques followed by
practical examples and case studies. How will I be Assessed? Class
Exercises during the term to prepare for the final exams in the
