undergoing revalidation and review, so it is not possible to
present exact details. Broadly speaking, Biology covers the entire
of the AS and A2 syllabus, ranging from the make up of the cell,
through to the exact pathways that organisms use to liberate energy
from their environment. There is also a strong component of ecology
and looking at the large scale picture of life on earth, as well as
a module on Human health and disease. Chemistry runs from the
structure of the atom through to looking at complex chemical
equilibria and why reactions occur at all. There is a strong
practical element and a close study of how chemistry shapes the
world around us. How will I be Taught? Teaching varies from
lectures to practical, with most sessions combining both. How will
I be Assessed? The course is assessed with a mixture of exams,
workbooks, presentations and essays. The exact make up and balance
of this depends on your specific pathway. What our students say? A
sample of comments from current and past students: "This course has
really prepared me for uni!", "It's a tough course, but very
interesting", "You need to be motivated to cope with the work, but
the course really gets you where you want to go"
