It is aimed at anyone who is working within the retail banking or financial services industry who wants to gain a broad understanding of various parts of the sector; this qualification enhances job related skills by studying practical topics which are designed to prepare candidates for current practice and the rapidly changing environment of the industry.

The qualification consists of two mandatory units: Financial Services Industry - Products and Services and Financial Services Law and Regulation in England and Wales, and four optional units, which can be chosen by the candidate to meet current job needs or future career aspirations.

  • Banking Operations
  • Economic Environment
  • Marketing Within the Financial Services Environment
  • Team Development Within a Financial Services Environment
  • Call Centre Operations Within a Financial Services Setting
  • Sales and Service Within a Financial Services Environment
  • Credit Union Practice
Course Length: Up to one year using a blend of supported home study and college tuition. Entry Requirements:

Whilst there are no formal entry requirements for this programme of study, candidates would be expected to have a good level of Numeracy and Literacy (GCSE grades C and above or their equivalent) as well as work in an environment where the application of their learning can be maximised.

Assessment:

Assessment for this programme is by online examination.

Academic Progression:

Successful candidates can progress to further study, including honours degrees, Foundation degrees, other professional qualifications or level 7 diplomas in Business and Corporate Banking (Chartered Banker), Building Society Operations (Chartered Banker), Financial Services Leadership (Chartered Banker) or Chartered Banker.
