Advanced Apprenticeship in Providing Financial Services

Routes for this finance apprenticeship include General Insurance, Retail Banking, Investment Administration, Pensions Administration and Pensions Advice.

This programme runs for approx. 12 – 18 months with flexible start dates. The apprenticeship can be fully delivered within the workplace, and the apprentice will need to work in an appropriate setting to achieve the skills and knowledge they need to achieve the Apprenticeship in Providing Financial Services which includes:

Course content

General Insurance -

• CII Level 3 Certificate in Insurance
• EDI NVQ Level 3 in Retail Financial Services
• Functional Skills - Maths Level 2 and English Level 2

Retail Banking –

• Level 3 Certificate in Customer Services
• NVQ & Functional Skills same as above

Investment Administration –

• CISI Level 3 Investment Administration Qualification
• NVQ and Functional Skills same as above

Pension Administration –

• Chartered Insurance Institute Certificate in Financial Administration
• NVQ and Functional Skills same as above

Pension Advice –

• Chartered Insurance Institute Certificate in Financial Planning
• NVQ and Functional Skills same as above

Entry requirements

The Apprentice must be employed for a minimum of 30 hours per week in a suitable role to demonstrate competence. There must be a line manager committed to on-the-job training who will liaise with College staff.

Progression

Many different progression routes including Level 4 Technical Certificates and the Open University Foundation Degree in Financial Services. Speak to the Financial Services Manager for more information.
