Course Length: 1 academic year Entry Requirements:

Five GCSEs at Grade C or above including English, Maths and a Science, or a relevant Intermediate GNVQ at Merit or above.

Core Skills:

The content includes health, human growth and development and behavioural studies, with an emphasis on developing your personal skills and understanding as well as your knowledge of, for example, cell biology and mammalian physiology. There is a high level of practical work including a variety of work placements. The course also has a bridging studies element to reinforce the maths and science relevant to your chosen profession.

Assessment:

Assessment is by internally set assignments and course work.

Academic Progression:

Successful completion of this course enables entry to the Extended Diploma at Level 3

Career Progression:

The academic standard satisfies the entry requirements of nursing and paramedical professions including physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy.
