Creative and Media Higher Diploma

Course Code: J0025 Course Length: Two years Course Schedule: Two days a week during school term time 9.00am to 3.00pm. Entry Requirements:

You will need to be on target to achieving a combined score of 15 or more in your English, Maths and Science Key Stage three assessment, have a very good record regarding behaviour and motivation, and above average attendance.

The Higher Diploma is designed to keep your options open. It is worth seven GCSEs at grades A*-C. It could lead to the Creative and Media Advanced Diploma, one of the other Advanced Diplomas available, another Level three course at the College or an Apprenticeship with an employer

During the programme you will also find out about the wide range of careers available within the creative and media industries to help you plan for the future.

Course Description:

If you are interested in creativity and want to explore your opportunities within the creative and media industries, then the Higher Diploma in Creative and Media is the right course for you. The Higher Diploma will enable you to expand your experience, knowledge and understanding of the creative and media industries as well as providing you with a wide range of functional, personal and thinking skills that you will need whatever career you choose to follow. There will be scope for you to study, in greater depth, areas in which you have a specific interest or aptitude. You will also be able to further develop your creative ideas through an extended project. You will get experience of realistic working environments and of working in teams with your fellow students. During the course, you will also be able to do at least ten days work experience, which is a great way to apply what you have learnt in a working environment.
