Career Progression:

Many of our students move into employment and gain the NVQ Level 2 on a construction site, needing only portfolio building sessions and site visits to ensure that they have covered all the criteria required by the NVQ awarding body.

Full Description:

There are seven units - 3 core units and 4 units that are trade specific.

Core Units

  • Safe working practices 1
  • Information, quantities and communications with others 2
  • Construction and technology 2

Trade Specific Units

  • Interpret working drawings to set out masonry structures
  • Thin joint masonry and masonry cladding
  • Building solid walling, isolated and attached piers
  • Building cavity walling, forming masonry structures
