This is an introductory hairdressing course which is suitable for adult learners over the age of 19 yrs who may be considering a possible career change and wish to gain technical skills and underpinning knowledge of the main technical services in hairdressing.
The course is delivered over two evening per week; sessions usually run on Tuesdays & Thursday 6-9pm.A theory class, of 3 hours including time allocated to individual tutorial to support students. The practical class is 3 hours, taking place in one of our well-equipped salons.

All applicants will be interviewed to establish their needs and
interests and suitability for the programme.
Students are required to buy a standard kit of hairdressing tools
and wear the designated salon uniform.
The course is equally suitable for both gender groups
Course Content
- The C&G (3002) Certificate in Womens Hairdressing includes: the following units:
- Unit 201 Working in hairdressing;
- Unit 202 Health & safety;
- Unit 203 Consultation for hair services;
- Unit 204 Shampooing & conditioning;
- Unit 207 Colour & lighten hair
- Unit 209 Art of dressing hair
Instruction in basic haircutting techniques is also included.Please note* if students wish to be certificated for this unit, as it is an optional unit, there will be an additional charge. Price TBC
Pre course Assessment
An initial assessment of literacy & numeracy is conducted to
determine existing level of functional (life) skills to ensure
suitability for course level.
