Course Code: A3487 End Date: 04/07/2014 Course Length: Two years Entry Requirements:Four GCSEs at Grade C or above, preferably including Art and Design and English Language, or First Diploma in Art and Design at merit or distinction, plus portfolio of varied, good quality work.
Core Skills:You will be guided through the units within studio projects. In year one you will develop a range of practical skills using a variety of media. As you progress, you will be able to develop your ideas, analytical skills and communication skills. You will also study an additional course in digital imaging to complement your studies. In year two you will be working more independently through a self generated final major project, which will be exhibited in an end of the year show. The focus of your studies will be towards intended progression to higher education or working in creative industries.
Assessment:The course is assessed both internally and externally, through visual portfolios, sketchbooks and a final major project which is exhibited to the public.
Academic Progression:This course is the equivalent of three A Levels. After completion of this course you can apply for higher level art and design courses.
Career Progression:This course will give you all the experience, qualifications and portfolio of work you’ll need to work towards employment within creative industries
Full Description:There will be a series of gallery visits to London and visits within Norfolk on a regular basis, plus a study visit to a European destination.
