standard software: Adobe Creative Suite CS6 What will I Study? This
course will give you the opportunity to develop your theoretical
and practical knowledge of different graphic design skills and
software programmes. Techniques you will explore include
typography, layout and design for print. You will also learn about
different illustrative styles such as figurative and technical and
you will utilise mixed media work in your designs. You will carry
out contextual studies of contemporary designers and artists to
inspire your own work. AS unit 1 = Portfolio of work. AS Unit 2 =
Externally set assignment. A2 Unit 3 = Personal study based on an
idea, issue, concept or theme, supported by 1000-3000 word essay.
A2 Unit 4 = Externally set assignment. How will I be Taught?
Lessons are based in the Graphic Design studio with an A3 colour
printer and scanner. You will be introduced to a range of creative
materials, techniques and processes through several short projects.
Whole class and 1-2-1 tutorials ensure you learn the skills
necessary to become successful graphic designers. How will I be
Assessed? Assessment is frequent and varied, it includes student
self assessment, peer assessment, formative teacher feedback and
