Full TimeThis course will give you the opportunity to understand the range of services within health & social care; develop an awareness of health & safety and the safeguarding and the protection of adults, children and young people; provide you an understanding of the principles and values in these sectors and develop your communication skills. You will also learn about: human growth & development, healthy eating and receive an introduction to dementia. You will also attend placement as part of the course to gain practical skills. In addition you will study essential skills, wider key skills and Welsh as part of the Welsh Baccalaureate.

How you will gain the qualification
Units are assessed using a range of tasks and portfolio evidence. Each module has a fixed number of credits. Students must pass each unit to obtain these. 30 credits are achievable. You must also pass the placement element of the course.
What qualifications you need
At least 4 GCSEs at grade E or above, one of which must be in
English with a minimum of 2 GCSEs at grades A*-D preferred or
successful completion of a relevant Entry Level.
Where to next
You may find a range of jobs in the Public and Private sectors. Alternatively you may choose to stay at College and progress onto Level 2 Health & Social Care or suitable childcare courses.
