How you will gain the qualification

Internal: Regular monitoring of progress occurs during each term. External: Examination Board: W.J.E.C. Course: GCSE Science (Foundation and Higher) 1 unit test (45min.) for each unit. 3 Practical Task assessments. Research skills and use of information. Practical Work and Hypothesis testing. Experimental Techniques and Safety.


What qualifications you need

The course is suitable for students who have sat and achieved Grade D in GCSE Science. Mature Students will be considered on an individual basis.


Where to next

A GCSE qualification in Science is a well recognised core qualification required for entry to some degree courses such as Nursing and Teaching. It is essential that you check this is accepted as a standalone Science qualification for a degree course and the grade requirement for each institution. It provides a foundation for progression to further study or for employment: eg, Research, Teaching, Progression to A/S Level.
