ENTRY TO CATERING & HOSPITALITY

This course provides an introduction to catering and hospitality. You will develop practical skills for working in kitchens and restaurants, learn food hygiene and safety and improve your Basic Skills in English & Maths. On successful completion of this course, you will gain qualifications in a range of food preparation, food service, and life skills to help you progress to further catering & hospitality courses or as a first step to employment.

How you will gain the qualification

The qualifications are achieved by passing ongoing assessments of your ability in the training kitchens and the restaurant over the length of the course, and completing assignments. All assessments and assignments are issued when the learners are ready to attempt them, allowing you to work at your own pace within certain targets and limits.

What qualifications you need

No formal qualifications are needed. Prospective students will be interviewed to find out their suitability for the course.

Where to next

Successful students could progress onto the Level 1 Professional Catering course or the Level 1 Travel, Tourism and Hospitality course.
