How you will gain the qualification
Assessment enables thlearner's workplace practice to provide evidence for individual units as well as the whole qualification. Methods of assessment could include Inference of knowledge from direct observation of practice, Witness evidence when directed by the sector,skills assessment strategy, Professional discussion, Reflection on own practice in real work situations Written assignments or learner's own plans and written records.
What qualifications you need
All applicants will be interviewed and be screened for a Basic Skills assessment in literacy and numeracy. Applicants must be working for 16 hours or more in a teaching assistant capacity or volunteering in a school in a teaching assistant for 10 or more hours per week for the duration of the course. Level 2 in English (GCSE grade C equivalent) is desirable. There are 2 entry points for this course during the year in February and September.

Enhances the employability of workers in related areas. The STL3 can offer progression opportunities onto related higher level qualifications like the Foundation Degree in Learning Support.
The Level 3 Certificate is suitable for learners planning to work or who are working in senior roles that support people's learning in primary, secondary or special schools. Level 3 requires competence across a varied range of responsibilities. They work under the direction of the teacher who has overall responsibility for teaching and learning in the classroom. They will contribute to planning implementing and evaluating learning activities and will work alongside the teacher to support whole class activities, as well as working on their own with individual or groups of pupils.
