Full Time

The AS (Advanced Subsidiary)can be taken as a discrete one year qualification or as the first half a full two year A Level. The courses are challenging, rewarding and enjoyable and offer a valuable experience for learners with a keen interest and aptitude in this subject area.


The course enables you to develop skills through a variety of activities. You will use a wide range of media, techniques and approaches such as observational drawing, painting and print making to produce a portfolio of work. How you will gain the qualification

You will gain this qualification through coursework and an externally set assignment at both AS & A2. Final grades are determined by marks awarded to your coursework and the externally set assignments.


What qualifications you need

A minimum of 6 GCSEs at grades A* - C including English Language and an Art or art related subject preferred grade A* - C. Entry to A2 is conditional on achieving A*- E at AS level.


Where to next

You may wish to progress onto a Foundation Diploma in Art & Design at Pre Degree level or you can continue your studies at university or gain employment in the Creative Industries.
