A combination of continuous assessment, short answer test papers and the completion of an awarding body candidate portfolio. Computer based on-line testing. Examinations are done on-line with City & Guilds. If required, additional learning support, which is delivered in the motor vehicle environment, is also provided on an individual or group basis to encourage students to gain full benefit from their studies. This course provides the opportunity for successful candidates to progress to other full-time, or part-time study in motor vehicle subjects.
The teaching strategies delivered suit a wide range of learning styles. This includes: Information learning technology (ILT); classroom based delivery; practical tasks; simulated I.L.T. and workshop tasks.
Entry requirements
4 GCSEs at D-G grades
Plus compulsory attendance at an interview day with assessment in English, maths and technical skills.
All progressing learners must complete an internal application form and achieve the full Entry 3 Light Vehicle or Motorcycle qualification with Functional Skills in English, Maths and IT at least at Entry 2.
Progression
IMI Level 2 in Light Vehicle Servicing & Repair VRQ 2.
Dates and times
This course runs three days per week. The duration of this course is oen year.
