General information
This course combines classroom-based theoretical study with practical sporting performance. Students will progress through the course by successfully completing a portfolio of evidence via continuous assessment. The course content can be related to any sport allowing students to apply their learning to their own personal sporting interests.

Teaching and assessment
Students will be assessed through a variety of assessment methods, including completion of assignments, completion of training diaries and observation of practical skills.
Entry requirements
4 GCSEs graded A*-D including English and maths or BTEC Level 1 Diploma in Sport and Leisure (pass) with successful completion of functional skills at Entry 3.
Compulsory attendance at a college interview and presentation with assessment in English and maths.
Additional course costs
There will be a resource fee that will need to be paid at enrolment. This will cover a programme uniform and training kit, educational visits and general resources.
Progression
On completion of this course students can obtain work within the sports industry or, if a merit or distinction grade is achieve,d students can progress onto one of our Level 3 programmes: the BTEC Level 3 Diploma 90 in Sport or BTEC Level 3 Diploma 90 in Sport and Exercise Science.
