Film Studies is a course that equips you with a wide range of analytical skills related to the moving image. It develops an understanding of the theories and debates that underpin film and cinema. Lessons concentrate on textual analysis, understanding the film and cinema industries and specific movements in film history.In the AS year two modules are studied: FM1 Exploring Film Form & FM2 British and American Film. Included in these topics are Film Audiences, Film Marketing, British and American Film Industries, 1960s British Cinema, and Comparative American Film.
