What will I study?This engaging NHS and Social Care-specific module will provide an overview of Health Records Management. It will enable a learner to understand what a Health Record is, what the legal implications are and the best practice in records management. It will also give an understanding of patients’ access to records, electronic health records and retention and disposal of records. Having completed the course learners will be able to explain why it is important to an organisation, describe the main areas of legislation and regulation, explain what needs to be done and be in a position to promote best practice within your organisation.
The module is structured into a number of engaging learning activities which guide the learner through each topic. These modules are supported by graphics, animations and a range of knowledge challenges which not only help with the retention of information but which are constantly reinforcing key messages. Once the learning element of the module has been completed the learner will be directed to the quiz section where his/her understanding will be put to the test.
How will the course be delivered?It is estimated that this module will take approximately 1-2 hours to complete (depending on learning speed). As an e-learning module you can complete this training in convenient stages and revisit whenever you wish. The system will record your progress throughout.
