NCFE Level 1 Substance Misuse Awareness Award – Distance Learning

Who is the course for?

This course is appropriate for a wide range of candidates, including those working with substance misusers and people in support work roles such as youth work, counselling or community work. The programme can also be used to support personal and social development for Foundation Learning.

What will I study?

Drugs are talked about in the media regularly, but what are the real facts about drug use and its effects?

This programme raises awareness of the drugs that are part of everyday life and also explores the cause and consequences of substance and alcohol abuse.

How will the course be delivered?

This is a distance learning package. You will be provided with a support assessor who will contact you via e-mail and telephone. You will complete assessments for each of the five units. On successful completion you will gain a NCFE accredited certificate.

Course Entry Criteria

The course is aimed at post-18 learners.

The college operates a no refunds policy as detailed below. Cancellations and transfer requests are subject to the following conditions:

• More than 4 weeks notice – no charge
• 4 weeks notice – 30% of the cost
• 2-3 weeks notice – 50% of the cost
• 1-2 weeks notice – 75% of the cost
• Less than 1 weeks notice – 100% of the cost

All cancellations must be made in writing and are subject to a £10 administration charge. The full fee’s policy is available on request.

What will I get at the end of the course?

On successful completion of the assessments you will be awarded NCFE Level 1 Award in Substance Misuse Awareness
