First Aid at Work 3 Day Course
This course is specifically designed to meet the needs of personnel in business and industry where it is a requirement for companies to have fully qualified First Aid Persons at all times.
Upon completion delegates are certified for three years, however the HSE Code of Practice recommends attending the half day First Aid Annual Update course each year.

- Demonstrate Treatment for Bleeding, Fractures, Sprains and Strains
- Demonstrate Casualty Management
- Demonstrate CPR on an Adult
- Recognise Choking & Apply Treatment on an Adult
- Recognise Treatment for a Heart Attack
- Identify Items in a First Aid Kit
- Recognise Responsibilities of First Aider
- Identify Shock & Anaphylactic Shock
- Identify Head Injuries
Through classroom based activities such as discusstion, role-play, practical activities, questions and answers, quizzes, feedback and assessments.
Course Entry CriteriaThere are no entry criteria other than a keen interest in this subject.
The college operates a no refunds policy as detailed below. Cancellations and transfer requests are subject to the following conditions:
- More than 4 weeks notice – no charge
- 4 weeks notice – 30% of the cost
- 2-3 weeks notice – 50% of the cost
- 1-2 weeks notice – 75% of the cost
- Less than 1 weeks notice – 100% of the cost
All cancellations must be made in writing and are subject to a £10 administration charge. The full fee’s policy is available on request.
What will I get at the end of the course?You will receive a Blackburn College Certificate of attendance upon successful completion of the training which is approved by HSE.
What can I do next?We also offer First Aid re-qualifying course which are essential for those holding a three year First Aid Certificate nearing expiry.
The HSE now recommend that all First Aiders attend annual refresher training. This half day course provides an annual update for those who have completed the three day First Aid at Work course.
How much does it cost?The course is priced at £140.00 per delegate (prices are subject to change) and this includes all tuition, paperwork and a Blackburn College Certificate of Attendance.
