The RFU Sports First Aid Qualification is a six hour course, where candidates will learn how to deal with a range of first aid situations that occur within rugby. You will learn:
- What to do in a emergency
- Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
- First aid for a unconscious casualty
- First aid for the wounded or bleeding
- How to use first aid equipment
- How to deal with concussion
- How to deal with breaks and sprains
- The employers risk assessment

The course includes continuous assessment of practical skills and a worksheet test of theoretical knowledge leading to the RFU Sports First Aid Appointed Person Award. The Award is fully recognised as a First Aid Appointed Person Qualification, is valid for three years and is easily revalidated.
Organised for the RFU by the STA the course can be easily arranged at a local venue during weekdays or weekends.
How to Book:- Clubs or individuals can simply contact the STA Office, your local Rugby Development Officer (RDO) or Constituent Body Welfare Officer to request a course
- They will book your course and tutor for the venue and date you requested and we shall then send you a booking reference (Please allow a minimum of 28 days to book a course)
- Download and complete a registration form [right-click to save to your hard drive] with this reference and return with payment
- After successful completion of the course, award certificates will be dispatched to individuals by the STA.
Cost : Registration fees of £50 per person (payable to the STA) includes training manual, certificate, tutor and first aid training kit. There are a number of sponsored places available where you can receive a £50 voucher if your club have over 12 people attend a course at your club courtesy of Mobilis Healthcare (subject to availability - the availability of these will be advised when booking the course).
