Description
This course is designed for students who wish to gain a qualification covering Computer Science alongside functional skills in English and Mathematics at Level 2. Students will complete projects and assignments based on realistic workplace situations to develop a range of specialist skills and knowledge.
Course content
On successful completion of the course you will receive an Extended Diploma in Computer Science. This is equivalent to three A levels.

Entry Requirements
4 GCSEs at Grade 'C' or above including English and Maths or Merit at Level 2 First Diploma IT and Level 1 Functional Skills in English and Maths; together with an excellent reference from previous course or school. You may also be tested for English, Maths and ICT skills to ensure you are on the right course.
Delivery & Assessment methods
The course consists of 18 units split over two years. An Assignment is to be completed in each Unit of the course
Progression
Many students will progress to our Foundation Degree or HND at Birmingham Met, a place at University or enter employment. Alternatively students may progress to an Apprenticeship in IT.
