Description
The course offers an opportunity to study a wide range of skills essential for the design and production of both fashion and textiles, whilst developing a real understanding of professional working practices and expectations of the fashion industry. Students will develop these skills through a variety of lectures, workshops and live projects (including Clothes Show Live and the Sunday Times Style Birmingham event).

The project briefs are broad-ranging to allow for a comprehensive understanding of the subject and possible career routes, to be fully explored.

The Extended Diploma Fashion & Clothing is an 18-unit qualification that is equivalent to 3 A levels.
Entry Requirements
A minimum of four GCSEs at grade C or above including English and Mathematics (or equivalent) or Level 2 Diploma with Merit grade in Art and Design, plus a portfolio of art work. Students with a Pass grade will be considered subject to an additional assessment and/or supporting reference from tutor/school.
Delivery & Assessment methods
Assessment is carried out throughout the programme and is coursework-based. On-going feedback in each lesson is complimented with written interim and summative assessment for each subject of each project brief.
Progression
Foundation Art and Design programmes, HND Fashion, higher education or employment.
