It provides you with the skills to be a competent gas fitter and installer. These skills will enable you to progress to undertake the assessment required to become gas safe register after a few more days training. The qualification will enhance your CV and job applications for career progression in this profession. This is a nationally recognised qualification.
Entry Requirements
Basic construction course City & Guilds Level 1, eight units to complete (five Plumbing, three Electrical) GCSE English grade C, GCSE Maths grade C, one other GCSE and interview.
Delivery & Assessment methods
All assessments are practically based but you will be required to build up a portfolio of evidence of your assessments that will be verified by the awarding body.
Progression
NVQ Level 2 is the minimum requirement to work as a trained maintenance engineer. Level 3 will take you onto the skills and knowledge required for supervisory jobs. The courses lead to enhanced career prospects within the industry.
