The course enables the learner to navigate his way around the current IEE Regulations Book and to give awareness in the requirements of BS7671 to the following components:

  • Scope, Object and Fundamental principles
  • Definitions & terminology
  • Assessment of general characteristics
  • Protection for Safety
  • Selection & Erection of equipment
  • Inspection & Testing
  • Special Installations or Locations

Entry Requirements

None, but desirable for practising contracting electricians or someone who has recently completed the electrical course at level 3 or above

Delivery & Assessment methods

The course is delivered over 12 weeks, on one evening for 2hours per week. Assessment is completed by external on-line MC exam, consisting of 60 Questions lasting 2hours.

Progression

The course enables the learner to progress to the Inspection & Testing of electrical installations, having the appropriate experience in the electrical industry.
