The CIH Level 2 Award in Community Action in Housing (QCF) is an introductory qualification designed to provide learners with an understanding of, and the skills to take part in, housing and community activities. It is particularly useful for service users (tenants and residents) of housing association, councils, and ALMOs who may be involved or who may wish to become involved in tenants' and residents' groups or forums, scrutiny panels, and in participation in any aspects of the management of social housing .

Course content

The course looks at the range of services provided by social housing organisations, and helps people to develop skills to participate effectively in a variety of aspects of the management of social housing and social housing services
Entry Requirements
Applicants should normally be educated to Level 1 standard or equivalent, but active consideration is given to mature student entry.
Delivery & Assessment methods
Assessment is continuous, and comprises of internally marked and externally moderated assignments
Progression
Opportunities exist within the expanding sector of tenants and resident involvement in the management and scrutiny of social housing. Academic progression is usually to the CIH Level 2 Certificate in Housing Practice (QCF), the CIH Level 3 Award in Resident Scrutiny (QCF), or in some cases to an appropriate Level 3 Certificate in Housing Practice (QCF)
