Learners will be assessed in the workplace against the competences required within the above qualification. *A relevant qualification may be substituted to conform to the new Occupational Standards (QCF) Knowledge element *BTEC First Diploma in Applied Science (level 2) *Functional Skills Element *Level 1 Functional Skills in Mathematics *Level 1 Functional Skills in English

Entry Requirements

Employment in a Laboratory related role GSCE Grade A – D or equivalent in English, Maths and Science. Relevant professional experience will also be considered.

Delivery & Assessment methods

Assessment is by a production of a personal portfolio of evidence demonstrating understanding and application of the NVQ Level 2 performance criteria. External examination will be required for knowledge and Functional Skills element.
