ualification Structure To complete the Award learners must gain a minimum of 6 credits. 5 credits must be achieved from the mandatory units and then a further 1 credit must be achieved from the optional units. Entry Requirements

his qualification: • is suitable for parents and volunteers wishing to participate in provisions in early years settings • allows learners to gain an understanding of the provision of childcare available in early year’s settings • will be available from the 1st Sept 2010 • is part of Foundation Learning (FL) and will appear on the QCDA Foundation Learning Catalogue and will be eligible for Foundation Learning funding • will be signposted to relevant NOS where applicable and will reflect the themes of Every Child Matters and Early Years Foundation Entry Entry requirements and experience in real work environments Requirements There are no formal entry requirements for these qualifications but learners must be at least 16 years of age. Work in a real work environment however Learners do not need to be working but it is recommended that should be volunteering in an early years setting for 1 day per week

rogression to the Level 2 certificate for the children's and young peoples workforce
