Level 1 Award in Sustainability Skills

Based at the Environmental and Renewable Technologies Hub (EaRTH) at Bicton College, this course will provide participants with a business-focussed introduction to sustainability issues. You will learn in our ground breaking centre of excellence for demonstration and training in environmental and renewable technologies.

This Level 1 course at Bicton College is designed for organisations who want to do just that. It will provide participants with an introduction to sustainability issues and help them to develop a range of practical skills and qualities to lead on sustainability for their employer, including:

• Understanding sustainability issues in a business context
• Increasing resource efficiency
• Resource and waste management
• Developing and implementing a sustainability project targeted to your business
• Developing leadership skills for sustainability

Assessment

Assessment is through group work, discussion, project and written work based on the grading criteria laid down by the awarding body.

Progression

As an accredited qualification you can use this as part of your Continuing Professional Development (CPD) with your employer. Successful learners may progress on to a Level 2 Certificate in Sustainability Skills or alternative Level 2 and 3 Courses in Environmental Management at Bicton College to further develop your specialist knowledge in sustainability leadership. You can also use this as an introduction into the environmental industry by joining the EaRTH programme at Bicton College to access a wide range of professional networking, trade and business opportunity events.

• £205.00 + £18.80 Awarding Body Certification per person
• £175.00 + 18.80 Awarding Body Certification fee per 2nd person from the same organisation
• Free if aged 16-18 years
